Guided Meditation In The Park
Today I went for my daily walk. In the park, I noticed a wellness gathering of some sort. After my walk I decided to join with no expectation but rather curiosity. I want to share the guided meditation I did while sitting in the grass and soaking up the sun.
I closed my eyes and my mind drifted. I was standing in the
park and as I looked down, I saw $100 in the grass. I started to walk towards $100
until I noticed a little girl in the distance walking towards me. As she
approached closer, I saw it was my younger self. She looked peaceful. Now, I had
a choice to pick up the $100 or walk with my younger self. I chose to walk with
her leaving the $100 behind. We went and sat on a swinging bench laughing. We
didn’t have much to say to each other because we already understood one
another. We just enjoyed each other’s company while swinging in the sun.
I looked to my right, and I saw my mom, uncle Jerome and
Kitty watching us. They too were smiling towards us as Kitty sat there looking
with loving eyes. We continued to swing with so much love, contentment and joy
in our hearts. It felt peaceful and freeing while noticing that we were connected
to everything. We weren’t just connected to each other but connected to the
grass, the sidewalk, the bench and everything that surrounded us.
Then I looked to my left and I saw darkness in the distance.
I noticed I wasn’t bothered nor worried about it. It was there more as of a
reminder of all the lessons learned and will continue to learn. I also noticed
that my younger self wasn’t bothered, she just kept swinging with me while
taking in the scenery. I did ask her, “did you ever think you would turn out
this way?” She just smiled at me with compassion.
As we started to realize it was time to go, we got off the
swinging bench and walked towards the $100 in the grass. I picked it up and gave
it to my younger self. She looked at me with confusion. I told her to keep it.
It’s to remember to invest in yourself and that someday it will serve its
purpose when the time is right.
